Fire erupted near K. Thulusdhoo Boatyard, Sunday morning.
Police said that the fire was seen by a patrolling policeman at 9:50 am, and that police, and men working on building Thulusdhoo harbor had worked on controlling the fire using equipment they used for construction.
Police said that the fire had been put out using water and sand, after a 30-minute struggle.
No one was hurt in the incident, though nearby buildings were damaged.
Police said that they were now investigating the reason behind the fire.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating the huge fire in Male’ last week, which turned Coastline Hardware into a pile of ash. Nearby buildings were also damaged in the fire, leaving some homeless.
