Mifco lights Thinadhoo harbor, frozen goods goes to Mifco ice plant

Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (Mifco) has lighted the harbor of G. Dh. Thinadhoo with the help of the Mifco ice plant in the island.

An official of Mifco told Sun Media tonight that the island of the harbor was lit with the help of the ice plant around 8 p.m. And the boat “Randhi 25” at the port is lighting the harbor.

He said that the Mifco ice plant has arranged to hold the frozen goods of the island’s businesses along with phone recharging services 24 hours.

Mifco also donated a number of cases of water produced by the company to the island’s hospital. And more than 800 cases have been stocked at the island for an emergency scenario.

With the island of 10,000 people out of electricity after the fire at the powerhouse last night, government companies have been providing numerous aid to the people of Thinadhoo. And so while Maldivian has reduced the ticket prices to fly to Kaadeddhoo, the airline has decided not to take any air charges from cargo to Thinadhoo.

Ooredoo and Dhiraagu have donated temporary generators to the island along with phone charging capabilities.
