Economic Ministry has said that they would be cancelling business permits and business registration of those businesses registered in compliance with Business Registration Act that do not have their registration certificates displayed visibly so their customers can see it.
Economic Ministry released a statement on Monday, saying that it was compulsory for registrations certificates to be displayed visibly by all businesses that are registered in compliance with Business Registration Act.
Deputy Economic Minister Adam Thaufeeq said that they had noticed during their inspections that business registration certificates are often not visibly displayed.
Business Registration Act states that no one can run a business without registering it. And that those who violate the law will be fined an amount between MVR 1,000 to MVR 10,000 – depending on the seriousness of the offense.
