Maldives has joined the 47th International Boat Show being held at Dusseldorf, Germany – the biggest sea sports fair held in the world.
Over 1,700 participants from 60 countries all around the world are showcasing different equipment and vessels used for sea sports in the fair being held at Dusseldorf Exhibition Center.
The fair, named “Boot 2016” started on January 23 and will continue until January 31.
Visitors have the opportunity to see the merchandise displayed at the fair, get the information they want and test the merchandise for themselves.
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) said 18 representatives from nine companies operating in tourism industry including them are participating in the fair.
MMPRC said that the purpose of participating in the fair was to further advertise Maldives as a good diving destination.
The company also said that the fair would link companies working in Maldivian tourism industry and German tourism companies, culminating hopefully in an increase in number of German tourists visiting Maldives.
Germany is one of Maldives tourism industry’s most old and most reliable markets. It makes up 8.2 percent of tourism revenue to Maldives.
