2 arrested for stealing MVR 18,000 from a tourist in Thoddoo

Two suspects have been arrested for stealing MVR 18,000 from a tourist’s handbag in A.a. Thoddoo.

Police media official who spoke to “Sun” said that MVR 12,000 from the stolen money had been recovered. And that police were working on recovering the rest.

The money was stolen Saturday evening from the beach area restricted for tourists.

Police have not released the names of the people arrested or from where they recovered the money.
