2 arrested from Ihavandhoo for sorcery

Two people have been arrested from H.a. Ihavandhoo under the suspicion that they were performing black magic.

Two young men – a 25 year-old and a 24 year-old were arrested from Ihavandhoo after police raided the island last Thursday, following up on reports they received that people were performing black magic there.

Police have been granted a remand period of 7 days for each of the men.

“Police arrested the two men under court order and raided two houses they are believed to have been living in, as well as a warehouse,” said police.

Police said that they had also confiscated some items from the places they raided.
