Maldives Police Service has retracted their statement saying that it was by mistake that they said the 23-year-old Hawwa Zuha was killed inside an empty room at H. Laaluge.
The Police issued a statement today saying that she was not killed at H. Laaluge but inside an empty room at H. Laalukuri.
Police have appologised to the residents of H. Laaluge for the mistake.
The Police said that the 23-year-old was strangled according to the preliminary report of the postmortem examination and suspect it was by a foreigner. And they said that the suspect has been arrested.
While a Bangladeshi national has been arrested for the murder of Hawwa Zuha, Police also arrested two locals, a 28-year-old local man a 50-year-old woman on 9 January. They were both arrested at H. Droomge frequented by the victim.
