Police said that Hawwa Zuha, 23, from L. Gan was strangled to death. And that the suspicion falls on a Bangladeshi man.
Deputy Head of Crime Investigation Command, Chief Superintendent Mohamed Riyaz said that investigation into the case so far revealed that Zuha was murdered in a vacant room in H. Laaluge.
Riyaz said that preliminary report on Zuha’s postmortem indicated that Zuha died from suffocation resulting from being strangled.
He said that the foreigner who the police suspect perpetrated the murder had been found and arrested, and that they were currently working on wrapping up the investigation.
In addition to the Bangladeshi man, police also arrested a 28 year-old man and a 50 year-old woman – who lived in H. Droomge – a house frequented by Zuha when she was alive.
Zuha’s mother Naeema Mohamed said in an earlier interview that Zuha had bruises on her upper thigh in addition to her neck when she was found dead on the street.
