Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to visit Maldives tomorrow

Maldivian Foreign Secretary has said that the Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar would be visiting the Maldives tomorrow.

A tweet from the Official Maldivian Foreign Ministry twitter tonight said that the Indian Foreign Secretary would be visiting on an official visit.

India’s The Hindhu news said that Indian Foreign Secretary Jaishankar would be visiting the neighboring Sri Lanka after his visit to the Maldives.

Jaishankar is also scheduled to visit Paskistan on 15 January as well. The Hindhu reported that it is unlikely that the Indian Foreign Secretary would visit Pakistan in light of the recent terrorist attack on the Indian airbase near the India-Pakistan border.

Both the Indian and the Maldivian governments have been repeatedly saying that the relations between the two countries are improving.
