Old Jamaluddin School building emptied

The old Jamaluddin School building being used as the G-Block of the Maldives National University (MNU) has been completely emptied.

The last date the government gave to clear old fragile the building where the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Sharia and Law at the G-Block of MNU was June 2015.

An official form MNU told Sun Media that the building was emptied two weeks ago and MNU has not been conducting any activity at the building anymore.

And so the administrative services to the students are now being given at the central administration.

The Faculty of Arts and Center for Open Learning has now been moved to the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality. And the Faculty of Sharia and Law has been moved the former building of MES.

There were 1200 students studying in two faculties at the G-Block when the building was ordered to be cleared.

MNU says that as they prepare for the new academic year, courses would resume at the Faculties that have been relocated as well.
