Azima appointed as the Minister of Legal Affiars at the President’s Office

President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom has appointed the former Attorney General, Azima Shukoor as the Minister of Legal Affairs at the President’s Office.

Aside from Azima, the President also assigned three state ministers to three departments.

The letter of credence was presented by the President at a special ceremony this morning at the President’s Office.

While Gasaan Maumoon has been appointed as the Minister of State for Social Affairs, the former MP for the Hanimaadhoo constituency, Mohamed Mujthaz was appointed as Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and Mohamed Luwaiz was appointed as the Minister of State for Economic Relations.

Ms. Azima Shukoor has filled the position of the Attorney General in the Presidency of Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and Dr.Waheed. And last December, she was hired as a consultant by the government of President Abdulla Yamin.

The younger son of the former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, Gasaan Maumoon was in the position of a state minister at the President’s Office. Before his transfer to the President’s Office, he was a state minister at the Youth Ministry.
