Police suspect Hawwa Zuha was murdered

Maldives Police Service has said they suspect Hawwa Zuha, found dead Thursday morning on a street near Dhoohimeri Magu in Galolhu district was murdered.

Police said that investigation into the case so far pointed to Zuha being left on the street after she was murdered.

“Investigation into the case so far has led to us believing she didn’t die a natural death. In addition to this, investigation into the case so far has led us to believe that Hawwa Zuha was murdered and then left on a street near Dhoohiri Magu,” said police.

Deputy Head Chief Superintendent of Police of Crime Investigation Command, Mohamed Riyaz said that police had decided to send Zuha’’s body abroad for postmortem, and were discussing with relevant authorities to make necessary arrangements.

Police said that Zuha was already dead when he was found on the street and her body taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
