Maldives announces final squad for SAFF Suzuki Cup

The 20-member national team squad for the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Suzuki Cup set to kick off on Wednesday in Trivandrum, India, has been announced.

The team members are Ahmed Imaz, Ahmed Nashid, Amdhan Ali, Asadulla Abdulla, Imran Mohamed, Samdhooh Mohamed, Mohamed Faisal, Ansar Ibrahim, Ismail Esa, Ahmed Shafiu, Ahmed Abdulla, As-had Ali, Ali Fasir, Mohamed Hamza, Naiz Hassan, Mohamed Imran, Ibrahim Abdulla, Samooh Ali, Ali Ashfaq, and Ahmed Arif.

The remaining players are Hassan Shifaz, Ibrahim Haseeb, Mohamed Saif, Mohamed Irfan, Moosa Yameen, Ahmed Nooman, Ahmed Rizwan, Yashfad Habeeb, Mujthaz Mohamed, and Ibrahim Ifrah Areef.

Speaking at a press conference to announce the team, General Secretary of Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Bassam Adheel noted the inclusion of young players, and said that it was a great challenge for the coach to select the team.
