A period of 30 days to Adheeb to respond to the charges with a lawyer

Criminal Court has given the former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor has been given a period of 30 days to respond to the charges of Abuse of Power against him.

The 30-day period was given at the hearing conducted via video conference upon the request of the former Vice President.

Since Adheeb’s lawyers have been suspended, the former Vice President said that it is difficult to find lawyers and he needs 30 days for it. The duration was granted by the Chief Judge Abdulla Mohamed.

Adheeb was charged with misuse of official authority in the case of leasing Malé atoll lagoon to Ebony Private Limited for 50 years on 30 September 2015.
