A man has been arrested in N. Landhoo with a large quantity of drugs.
In the serial operations being conducted by the N. Atoll Police Station to shut down drug smugglers, users and traders in the atoll, they arrested a 20-year-old man.
Police said that the man was arrested on 6 December around 11:30 a.m. at his residence.
Five packets of suspected drugs were found inside a bag at a vacant room during the search of the man’s residence.
Following information received regard this operation, a second house was searched where 130 rubber packets of suspected drugs were uncovered.
Police said that the man they arrest also tested positive for drugs. N. Manadhoo Magistrate Court has extended the man’s remand by five days to keep him detained at designated location decided by the Home Ministry for the investigation.
