Police have submitted investigation reports to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office, seeking charges of corruption in the issuance of seven islands for resort development.
The deals involve Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), but the suspects and islands involved are unclear.
A PG Office official told Sun Media that the case was submitted last Sunday.
Charges were lodged against former vice president Ahmed Adeeb and Managing Director (MD) of MMPRC Abdulla Ziyath yesterday, over corruption in the issuance of land for tourism development to a foreign party.
