Information Department to be transferred to National Library

Ministry of Tourism has decided to transfer the Information Department to the National Library building.

Director General of National Library Ibrahim Shiyam said that with this change, the Information Department will be operated from the National Library from next month onwards.

Information Department was previously located at Tourism Ministry in Velaanaage building.

Shiyam said that importance will be given to creating a registry of writers and media, and that the opportunity to register to be included in this registry will be opened soon.

Also, the Library will provide the expert assistance required by the Department.
