Education Ministry condemns murder of student

Ministry of Education has condemned the murder of a student of Dharumavantha School.

A statement by Director of Ministry of Education Abdullah Ibrahim strongly condemned the murder of Mohamed Arham of Nooreege, Ha. Hoarafushi, and called on all relevant institutions to conduct a speedy investigation into this case and punish those responsible.

The Ministry also called on the society as a whole to work towards putting an end to such cruelty against students, who deserve to be loved by the society.

Through the statement, the Ministry also expressed condolences to Arham’s family.

Two students of Gn. Fuvahmulah Education Centre were also stabbed on 20 May while they were on their way home from school.

Ministry of Education issued a statement calling to punish those involved on that occasion as well. Today’s is the second such statement in history by Ministry of Education.
