Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon has said that Maldivians are benefiting from the close relationship the Maldives have with foreign countries.
Speaking at the ceremony at Hotel Jen tonight celebrating two years to President Yamin’s Foreign Policy and 50 years as a member of the United Nations, Minister Dunya said that the relations with some countries have become closer than ever before and the Maldivian people are benefiting from it. The Minister mentioned China, India and Saudi Arabia on that list.
The Minister said that one of the biggest responsibilities of the Maldivian Foreign Ministry is to minimize the negative impacts on the country.
Minister Dunya said that strengthening foreign relations is part of President Yamin’s foreign policy and it has been achieved in the past two years.
The Minister said that the last two years have been the most active two years for the Maldives on the international stage.
Debating on important issues and achieved significant victories, says Minister Dunya and said that the Foreign Ministry wants to maintain the reputation of the country.
Foreign Minister Dunya said that the efforts of some people to soil the good name of the Maldives by joining some powerful nations have failed. And said that the Maldives is achieving victories on the international stage and the Ministry’s goal is being realized.
