Maldives Police Service has been brought to a state of alert for the “To Be Free” protest rally to be held tomorrow by the biggest opposition party, MDP.
Police said that an operational briefing on security procedures was conducted regarding the protest rally. The briefing was conducted in separate sessions.
Deputy Head of Central Operations Command, Chief Superintendent of Police, Abdulla Shareef and other commanders in the operation spoke at a special meeting at Iskandharu Koshi tonight.
At the meeting, officers were given information on maintaining security, ensuring the protection of the people and maintaining the peace in the city. The commanders also advised the officers on operating with care to personal safety.
