Holhudhoo floods after heavy rain

N. Holhudhoo has been flooded after heavy rains since this morning causing water to enter some of the houses.

Vice President of the Holhudhoo Island Council, Ahmed Hamdhan said that it has been raining in the island since 7 a.m. and the island has been flooded.

He said that the water has entered about five houses.

Pumps are being used to drain water, says Councilor Hamdhan but not to an expected outcome. And so MNDF is on the way to the island with aid.

Councilor Hamdhan said that sandbags are being utilized to protect houses from the flood.
