Telecommunication company – Dhiraagu has donated equipment worth MVR 100,000 to children with disabilities.
Equipment needed to provide education to children with disabilities in Al-Noor Center – part of Sharafuddin School in S. Hithadhoo, was donated on behalf of Dhiraagu by CEO and Managing Director, Ismail Rasheed.
The equipment donated by Dhiraagu include a cerebral palsy chair, a walking aid, a computer system, therapy ball, floor mat, and story books and special needs keyboards.
Dhiraagu said that Al-Noor Center – which was established in 2007 - had been in dire need of the equipment they donated. And that the equipment would play an important role in providing education to the children.
Al-Noor Center provides education to 30 children suffering different disabilities. There are currently 8 teachers and a coordinator taking care of the education of students there.
