President: A supplementary budget would be presented in the middle of 2016

President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom has said that a supplementary budget would be presented in the middle of next year if a new revenue source opens that could refresh the budget.

Speaking at the ceremony at the STELCO hall to commemorate the signing of two MPs to PPM, President Abdulla Yamin said that there are signs that the coming year would be economically fruitful. And so revenue sources that could refresh the budget would be met at the beginning of the year.

“…if this is going like this, like I said to you, in the middle of the year, a supplementary budget would be presented.” President Abdulla Yamin said.

The President said that the supplementary budget is not an amendment to the budget but an opportunity for the state to renew the budget if the state wishes.

“…so that being a completely new budget is not far off. When the income rises amendments would come to the budget. Favorable amemdments would come to the entire budget.” President Yamin said.
