People’s Majlis Committee on Independent Institutions have voted in favor of Shaheed Mohamed of Ga. Vilingili – Vaijeheyge to be appointed as a member of Civil Service Commission.
A member of the committee who spoke to “Sun” on Tuesday said that only Shaheed had applied for the position, and that he had been appointed to the position a few days back.
The member said that Shaheed had scored 88% when the committee had looked into his capability, experience, leadership and vision, integrity, and the relevance of education received to his work responsibilities.
Committee considers any individual who scores above 75% to be suitable for the position.
“Therefore the decision to approve or disapprove Shaheed Mohamed’s appointment to Civil Service Commission will be made on the Majlis floor,” said the committee member.
CSC currently has four members. Dr. Ali Shameem – who is President, Jameela Ali Khalid – who is Vice President, and Reenee Abdul Sattar and Zakariyya Hussain.
