Goidhoo council member resigns

Sh. Goidhoo council member Ismail Rasheed has handed in his resignation.

Goidhoo council president Ibrahim Shahid informed “Sun” on Monday that fellow council member Ismail Rasheed had handed over his resignation on November 9.

“Ismail Rasheed handed over his letter of resignation on 9th, this month. We accepted his resignation during council meeting held on 17th,” said Shahid.

He said that Local Government Authority had been informed of the resignation of Ibrahim Rasheed, who had competed for the seat on behalf of government party Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

The council has not divulged information as to why he had handed in his resignation.

Ismail Rasheed is unavailable for comment on the matter at the moment.
