Application open for Special Needs Council

Application has been opened for those who wish to be members of council to protect rights of people with special needs.

Announcement made by Gender Ministry says that three members would be chosen, each by people from three fields of life.

One member is to be elected by medical doctors, one by organizations which protect the rights of people with special needs or provides a service to people with special needs, and also one with special needs, chosen by people with special needs.

Application will be open until December 6.

Members chosen for the council will be provided with a monthly allowance of MVR 5,000.

The council was formed in accordance with law to protect the rights of people with special needs and provide them with financial aid.
