Arrangements being made to transport man in critical condition after launch accident to Male: Hospital

Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital on Monday said that a victim of the speedboat accident which took place near Hdh. Hanimaadhoo Airport was still in critical condition, and that arrangements were being made to transport him to Male’.

Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital media officer Hassan Hussain informed “Sun” that the man had sustained severe injuries to his head, and that he was currently being treated at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

He also added that arrangements were being made to transport him to Male’ as soon as possible.

“The state of other victims is, all in all, good. But the severity of injuries they sustained isn’t less serious. There are some broken bones,” said Hassan Hussain.

Police had said that the two speedboats that collided at 6:05 pm on Sunday had sunk. And that effort was being made by police and army officers, as well as locals to retrieve the two speedboats.

Police had said that no tourists were injured in the accident, and that all those who sustained injuries were Maldivian.
