The case against the former Vice President, Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor for possession of a firearm has been sent to the Prosecutor General (PG) Office for prosecution.

An official from the PG Office confirmed this to Sun Media today.

“The case was officially accepted today.” The Official said.

Head of the Crime Investigation Department, Chief Superintendent of Police, Hamdhoon Rasheed has previously said that some people have given statements to the investigation saying that the former Vice President keeps a handgun in his apartment.

He said that the people who gave their statements said that they did not disclose this information before due to the state of the country at the time.

Chief Superintendent Hamdhoon said that some of the secret Police intelligence reports were found in their search of some of the apartments related to the former Vice President Adheeb.

Adheeb was arrested in suspicion of his involvement in the explosion on board the Presidential Launch in September.
