Sri Lankan Police have said that it is not confirmed that a Maldivian was attacked on the streets of Sri Lanka.
The family of the 45-year-old Nooraddheen from Th. Vilufushi said that he was attacked is being treated in the ICU in Sri Lanka.
In an interview from the Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Zaahiya Zareer to the Sri Lanka’s Colombo Page, she said that although the family said that Nooraddheen was attack, it has not been confirmed yet.
Zaahiya said that, according to the Sri Lankan Police, it was an accident. His family, however, said that he was attacked on his way home from shopping on an Auto near the American Embassy.
The family has previously said that according to the Police, he was attacked from behind on the head and was thrown into an Auto.
The attack on a Maldivian in Sri Lanka has been rumored a few days after Hussain Razeen (Rabarey), H. Hundred Flowers, was found murdered in Sri Lanka.
