Maldives Police Service has said that no arrests has been made in Maldives regarding the death of 28-year-old Hussain Razeen (Rabarey) who was found murdered in Sri Lanka.

But the Police Media Official said that a team from the Maldives Police Service is working with the Sri Lankan Police in the case.

The Sri Lankan Police said that a Maldivian friend of Razeen, Bilaal, who has been arrested in the case, revealed to the investigation that a Maldivian businessman offered him LKR 14 million to kill Razeen.

They said that a number of evidence including the rental van Razeen travelled in, the clothes Bilaal was wearing during the attack on Razeen has been acquired by the investigation.

Sri Lankan Police said that further questioning of Bilaal revealed that the businessman (who has not been named so far) wanted to kill Razeen because he killed a sibling of the businessman. They said that the businessman attempted to kill Razeen by himself first but decided to hire someone when that failed.

Some news agencies have reported that the said businessman has been arrested in the Maldives. But the Maldivian Police Service has denied such reports.

Hussain Razeen (Rabarey), H. Hundred Flowers, is a suspect in the murder of Ali Irash (H. Kubra). Back then, the Police issued a red notice through Interpol before he came in quietly.
