STO invites customers to exchange substandard flour

State Trading Organisation (STO) has invited customers to exchange the batch of substandard flour.

STO says the batch, which can be identified as Lot Number 2015348, has been sent abroad for testing.

Exchange is possible at STO Staple Foods and regional shops.

Maldives Food and Drug Authority (FDA) confirmed yesterday that substandard flour was being sold in the Maldives.

Following complaints, tests have been conducted which have confirmed that there are crystals in some samples of flour, FDA said.

The authority has advised to stop consuming and selling the substandard flour.
