A man has been injured in an accident involving a cargo boat and a fishing boat near Hulhumalé.
Police said the accident took place at around 8:00 a.m., and one man on-board the cargo boat who was injured has been taken to Hulhumalé.
Sources have told Sun Media he suffered a head wound.
Police say both boats were damaged in the accident.
“The cargo boat has been pulled up on the reef near Hulhumalé after it started sinking. The fishing boat is now in Hulhumalé harbour,” the police spokesperson said.
In a separate incident, a ferry going from Hulhumalé to Malé was damaged following collision with a Hulhulé Island Hotel (HIH) staff ferry at around 6:00 a.m. today.
The accident caused minor damage to the Hulhumalé-Malé ferry, but no one was injured.
