A Dhoodigamu Councilor arrested for sexually assaulting a child

A councilor from Dhoodigamu district of Gn. Fuvahmulah has been arrested in suspicion of sexually assaulting a child.

Sources say that the Councilor was arrested around 1:45 p.m. today at a restaurant.

Police said that a 28-year-old man was taken into custody today under a court order.

“He was arrested in suspicion of sexually assaulting a child with a court order.” The Police Media Official said tonight.

He said that the case of the sexual assault on the child is being investigated by the Fuvahmulah Police Station.
