Police has denied the rumours about seizing the passport of the former Prosecutor General, Muhuthaz Muhusin.
The Police Media Official told Sun Media today that the rumours about Muhuthaz Muhusin’s passport are untrue. And he said that the Police have not requested to hold the passport either.
A resolution to take a no-confidence vote against the former Prosecutor General, Muhuthaz was brought to the Parliament by the Parliamentary Group of PPM.
An MP from PPM said that PG Muhuthaz was dismissed because he has not done anything significant to the position. And the opposition MDP has said that the Parliament did not allow Muhuthaz to respond.
Former PG Muhuthaz Muhusin was summoned to a closed session of the sub-committee of the Independent Institutes Committee of the Parliament before his dismissal. The Police was also summoned to give information on the accusations against the former PG.
Back then, Muhuthaz said that he wants to respond to the no-confidence motion against in an open Parliament session. And he denied the allegations against him.
