New laboratory opened at IGMH

A new laboratory has been opened with easier service at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Media Official of the hospital, Zeenath Ali Habeeb told Sun Media today that although the new laboratory has been opened, all the tests are not available today.

“So far only fasting blood tests can be done. We are still changing equipment to the new laboratory.” Zeenath said.

The new laboratory installed with aid from the Indian Government is located at the same place as the old laboratory. While the new laboratory has 11 service counters unlike the old lab with just three, Zeenath said that service from the lab would be given with one token number unlike the previous system where a separate token was required for sample collection.

The IGMH Media Official said that unlike the old waiting area on the corridor, the new laboratory comes with a waiting area that is inside laboratory as well.

While the laboratory at the Government hospital opened with new changes, MRI scan services began at the hospital last Wednesday.
