Adeeb's lawyer Thalib suspended

Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has announced that Ahmed Thalib, a member of Ahmed Adeeb's legal team, has been suspended.

DJA said yesterday that Supreme Court was investigating an ethics issue related to Thalib, and he has been suspended until the court reached a decision on this matter.

This follows the recent transfer by Supreme Court, of the mandate to investigate issues related to lawyers from Attorney General’s Office to Supreme Court.

Supreme Court is also investigating an ethics violation accusation against Hussain Shameem, lawyer representing former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb. Shameem has also been suspended.
