Vice President Ahmed Adheeb’s driver, Corporal Shihab Hussain of MNDF Special Protection Group (SPG) has been detained at the MNDF HQ.

Sources say that Corporal Shihab was detained at the MNDF HQ on Monday.

Two bodyguards of the Vice President were also previously detained by the MNDF. They are Sargent Hassan Rikaz and Corporal Ahmed Amir.

Former Commanding Officer of the MNDF Ordnance Service and former Head of Security for President Abdulla Yamin, Colonel Ahmed Fayaz (Papa) was also detained at the Kalhuthukalaa Koshi (KK) military base.

He is very close to Vice President Ahmed Adheeb.

They are all being detained in the investigation of the explosion on board the Presidential Launch.
