Flooding in H.A. Dhiddhoo causes water damages to some of the houses on the island.
President of the Dhiddhoo Island Council, Ibrahim Sinaan said today that there is heavy rains in the island since morning leading the water to go into five houses.
“Five houses have got water in them causing damages to furniture and some tools. Some areas have floods up to about one foot high.” Councilor Sinaan said.
The Island Council along with the Police on the island and the people of the island are employing sandbags to prevent water damages to the houses. Sinaan said that this has the flooding somewhat controlled.
It is still raining in Dhiddhoo.
The weather forecast of heavy rains for the South Asia and the Maldives issued on 18 October predicts rain to the Maldives from October to December in moderate and heavy showers.
