Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the four Maldivians arrested along with Hamid Ismail in Malaysia by Malaysian police were released today, and there were not deported.
Foreign Ministry tweeted this afternoon, "Four Maldivians held by Malaysian police with Hamid Ismail, were released today. They were NOT deported."

The tweet contradicts Hamid’s lawyer Husnu Al-Suood’s comments regarding the matter.
Suood, who is in Malaysia, told Sun Media earlier that a Malaysian official source had confirmed that Hamid, one other man, and two women had been deported from Malaysia.
According to Suood those deported are Hamid Ismail, who will arrive in Maldives tonight; his wife, former minister Mohamed Hussain Shareef, and a woman who has not been named.
A cased claiming Hamid’s innocence has been filed to Malaysia’s High Court for which the first hearing is scheduled for 9 November, Suood said.
Hamid’s residence M. Shuramanzil has been raided by police several times since the 28 September explosion on the presidential speedboat in Maldives.
Items seized include a CCTV hard disk.
