Pistol found in house in Mal

Police and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) have found a pistol in a house in Malé.

The discovery came after several locations were searched on Thursday night. The exact location of the pistol is unclear.

Police spokesperson declined to comment.

The places searched include H. Hilton, the residence of Azilf Rauf, who was arrested earlier on suspicion of the murder of Dr Afrasheem Ali.

Police seized items in two bags from H. Hilton. The contents have not been disclosed.

The court order warranting the search stated under reasons for the search, that the house contained a dangerous weapon.

Police also searched M. Golden Beam and Ma. Raufath under court orders on Thursday night.
