Umar: Terminating Adheeb from PPM is a success to the party

Home Minister Umar Naseer has said that Vice President Ahmed Adheeb who was recently terminated from the party was someone who came later and “parachuted” to the position of the Vice President of the Party and his termination was a success to the party.

In a special interview to Sun Media, Home Minister Umar said that Adheeb would not be concerned no matter what happens to PPM. And he said that Adheeb had no role in forming the party. The Home Minister said that PPM was movement out of the political party PPM and Adheeb was involved in it.

“From the moment Adheeb arrived to the party, even we noticed that the party was losing it’s way an being mislead. During the Presidential Election when I started supporting Qasim, I stepped aside the party’s (PPM’s) leadership and I had a difference of opinion. I was looking at what was happening to PPM. Because PPM was born to our hand, our child. We were the ones who birthed this child. It would not be a lie to say that this was done by President Yamin, President Maumoon and myself. Adheeb was not even there.”

Home Minister Umar said that when the President Nasheed’s presidency came to an end and President Waheed came to power, Adheeb was brought in for a Tourism Minister and before that he wasn’t someone well known. Umar said that when Adheeb was as the Vice President of the PPM, the party went away from the purpose for which it was formed.

“So terminating him from the party would be a big success to the party. I’m very happy, because we have the opportunity to turn towards the direct for which the party was formed for.” Umar who recently signed to PPM said.

Adheeb who became the Vice President of PPM with the highest number of votes in the 2013 PPM congress was terminated from the party on Monday.

Home Minister Umar said that without Adheeb, the current Government has a chance for better governance. And he said that if this Government has done anything wrong, it would have been because of the Vice President Adheeb.
