Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the decision and remedy proposed by the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) should properly be considered by the appropriate authority, which in this case is the Supreme Court.
Following Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon's meeting with international diplomats in Sri Lanka today, during which she briefed them on the recent political developments in the Maldives, Foreign Ministry tweeted, “Gov is clear that the decision and the remedy proposed by the WGAD should properly be considered by the appropriate authority, namely the SC.”
