Man arrested for possession in Mal

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on the street in Malé for possession.

Police said the arrest was made near Jalaaluddin Mosque on Chaandhanee Magu at around 12:30 p.m. Friday by patrol police.

The suspect was frisked and police found 43 small packets of drugs, 41 of which were hidden in his underpants. The two remaining packets were in his jeans front pockets.

The case is under investigation by Police Drug Enforcement Department.
