MTCC launches ferry services in Thaa, Laamu atolls

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has launched ferry services in Thaa Atoll and Laamu Atoll.

The ferries in Zone 5 will operate all days of the week excluding Friday.

The service begins with one ferry in each atoll, but the number would be increased soon, MTCC said.

The company further said that each atoll has been divided into two sectors, and the service would be available in each sector every other day.

The ticket price is MVR 22 per passenger per trip.

MTCC also has plans to introduce a weekly ferry between Thaa and Laamu atolls within three months, and a bus service in Laamu Atoll early next year.

It presently provides ferry services in Kaafu Alifu Alifu, Alifu Dhaalu, Vaavu, and Thaa atolls.
