Inmates at Maafushi Prison take SSC exam

Among the inmates serving time at Maafushi Prison, 16 inmates are taking the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) this year.

The Correctional Services said today that five of the 16 inmates taking the exam are female inmates and said that the studies and preparation of the 16 inmates taking the exam were conducted by the Institute of Holy Quran and Sunnah with the Correctional Service.

Correctional Service said that although the inmates are taking the subject Islam in the exam this year, starting next year, inmates can take the exam in Dhivehi, English and Mathematics.
