Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj arrives in the Maldives

The Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj has arrives in the Maldives.

She arrived in the country around 3 p.m. today and was welcomed at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) by the Foreign Minister, Dunya Maumoon.

The two ministers met at the VIP Lounge at INIA.

The Indian Minister Sushma Swaraj arrived in the country for a meeting of the Maldives-India Joint Commission.

This would be the fifth meeting of the Commission. Although the details of the meeting have not been revealed by any country, the Foreign Minister says that a press conference would be held after the meeting.

A statement from the Foreign Ministry says that the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj arrived in the Maldives on the invitation of the Foreign Minister, Dunya Maumoon. But the Ministry did not say that date of her arrival.

The Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj arrived in the Maldives last November and met with high officials of the Government.
