Fares-Maathodaa MP Ibrahim Muththalib quits JP

Fares-Maathodaa MP Ibrahim Muththalib, who joined Jumhooree Party (JP) in last November, has left the party today. Last night Muththalib told the media about his decision to quit the party, and today he has submitted the letter of resignation to the party office.

He said that he hopes the party would submit the necessary documents to the election commission and cancel his membership as soon as possible.

Muththalib told last night that he is not happy about the way party is dealing with certain issues, and that is the reason for his resignation. “When we came to JP, our hope was to compete in the presidential election of 2013. JP may compete in the election, but JP is slowly losing the support. So I don’t want to stay disappointed,” said Muththalib.

Muththalib’s resignation will reduce the number of Jumhoory Party MPs to two
