USD 20,000 mugged near SBI

A man has been mugged near the State Bank of India (SBI) losing USD 20,000 (MVR 308,400).

Police Media Official told Sun Media today that the case of a man robbed of USD 20,000 was reported to the Police today. He said that a man who came out of the bank with the USD around 1:30 p.m. was robbed by two people who came out of Violet Hingun on a motorcycle.

The Media Official said that the two muggers also took some of the documents from the man aside from the money.

He said that there have been no arrests made so far in the case.

While a man was robbed of USD 20,000 near SBI today, over a MVR 50,000 was taken in break in at Irai Bookshop last night.
