Mijaad, top student of Iskandhar School

Moosa Mijaad Nooman has been selected as the top student of 2014 at Iskandhar School.

Mijaad was also the School Captain, a member of the School Prefect Board and the No.2 on the National Top Ten last year.

A total of 156 students from the school took the GCE O’Level exam last year.

The 40 students from Iskandhar School that was on the National Top Ten last year were awarded in the Prize Day ceremony held last night at Dharubaaruge along with the nine students that were on the World Top Ten.

In the ceremony last night, certificates were awarded to the top ten students of Grade 10 in the past year. And awards were presented to the top students of extracurricular activities. And so a special award was presented to the Iskandhar School student, Mohamed Shaffan Sulaiman, who learned the holy Quran by heart.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Guest, the Deputy of the Education Ministry, Ibrahim Ismail Ali said that students have to take part in extracurricular activities hosted at the school and learn different works. He said that those activities would teach the students new skills as they grow up and would also in turn benefit the country.

“Activities organized by the school are planned within education and knowledge. Aside from learning, it is important to take part in the activities hosted by the school. And the students have the chance to take part in activities in a way that no student is left behind. The opportunity is with the students. So I call the students to use this opportunities.” Ibrahim Ismail said.
