Abdulla Rasheed, father of MP Asma Rasheed, dies

Abdulla Rasheed, the father of Maafannu-Medhu MP Asma Rasheed, has passed away this morning at the age of 83.

Abdulla Rasheed is also the grandfather of Minister at President’s Office, Mohamed Hussain Shareef.

Abdulla Rasheed worked as a captain on a national shipping company vessel for many years, and was the first person to operate a taxi centre in Malé.

He leaves behind 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

People can pay their last respects at M. Kothanmaage. The funeral prayer has been scheduled for after morning prayer at Islamic Centre.
